I very simply slice a baguette on the bias, butter the bread, sprinkle with garlic powder and put into a 350F oven that has been turned OFF for about 10 minutes. Leaving it on will ';toast'; the bread, we like it left somewhat soft.I'm looking for tried and true homemade garlic bread recipes...care to share..thanks?
You can buy garlic bread pre-made and then reheat it in the oven. Easiest way, but not the cheapest
TRUST ME THE BAGLADY KNOWS HER GARLIC BREAD.
It is really very simple. You can use any type of bread or rolls, but Italian, french, sub sandwich loaves work well. You can make your own garlic spread easily: Use real butter, mixed equally with margarine, equaling 1 lb. total, add 1 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp parsley flakes, and 2 tsp garlic powder.
This is just the basic ingredients. When you ix this up, you'll want to refrigerate it overnight to meld the flavors and rehydrate the dry spices. Once you've made this, it can be stored for 3 weeks in the fridge. You can add other herbs as you like and even the garlic minced (in the jar) / onion flakes work well too.
Just remember to let it rest overnight. This stuff never lasts 3 weeks at my house. We eat it up almost as fast as it is mixed. Also, toast your bread with a generous dollop of this spread, for approx 10 to 15 minutes at 300-350F.
Enjoy, and let me know if you really tried this!
I think the other answerer meant more than a 1 ounce tub...
I hope so!
spread some olive oil to your choice of bread and rub fresh peeled %26amp; crushed garlic then bake / toast or you can also use commercially prepared garlic powder.

Soften a 10oz Tub or stick of butter by smashing it softly with a fork. Add 1 tsp. garlic salt and other seasonings of your choice. Try a Cajun spiced salt for a zesty variety.
2Step TwoSlice length-wise a loaf of French bread-the way you would if making a sub-style sandwich.
3Step ThreeSpread the seasoned butter mixture evenly across the bread. Be sure to butter both slices all the way to the corners of the loaf. Put the two bread halves together and wrap in foil.
4Step FourBake in preheated oven at 375 degrees F for fifteen minutes. Be careful when unwrapping the foil watching out for steam that might burn your hands. Cut into individual servings and serve immediately with your meal. Keep wrapped in foil to preserve warmth and softness.
