I have too much bread...can anyone give me good ideas/recipes to get rid of it?

So, I currently have about 3 whole loaves of bread sitting in my freezer. I'd like a way to get rid of a large chunk of it that is quicker/more fun/more tasty than simply using it to make sandwiches. Can somebody give me any good ideas or recipes to use my bread?I have too much bread...can anyone give me good ideas/recipes to get rid of it?
Bread Pudding is very good

* 3 cups bread cubes

* 4 cups scalded milk

* 3/4 cup white sugar

* 1 tablespoon butter

* 1/2 teaspoon salt

* 4 eggs, lightly beaten

* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

* 1 cup white sugar

* 1/2 cup butter

* 1/2 cup heavy cream

* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Some raisins are good in this also......

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2. Butter an 8x8 inch glass baking dish. Soak bread in hot milk for five minutes. Stir in 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon butter, salt, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour into the baking dish.

3. Line a roasting pan with a damp kitchen towel. Place baking dish on towel inside roasting pan, and place roasting pan on oven rack. Fill roasting pan with boiling water to reach halfway up the sides of the baking dish. Bake for 60 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

4. While pudding cools, combine 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter, cream, and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a large saucepan. While stirring, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and stir 3 minutes more. Spoon over warm bread pudding.I have too much bread...can anyone give me good ideas/recipes to get rid of it?
Make BRUSCHETTA, and lots of it!

All you need is some crusty bread, some cherry or roma tomatoes, some green onions, garlic, and seasonings like black pepper and garlic salt. Dice and mix all ingredients, add some fresh basil and parsley.

Cut baguette/bread into pieces, top with mixture. Drizzle some olive oil on top and then place some pieces of mozzarella on each. Bake in a 400 degree oven until nice and toasty and cheesy!

I LOVE spicy food so i also make a dipping sauce, my man loves it. Just throw together some hot sauce, melted butter, diced jalapeno peppers, red chili peppers and red pepper flakes/seasonings.

Bon appetit :)

EDIT ----------------------------------------鈥?br>

my mistake, you dont HAVE to have french bread, but just make sure your bread is toasted extra so that it can hold all these yummy ingredients

:)
Breakfast Strata is a good, easy way to use up bread.

Bread slices, crust removed

Margarine

6 eggs

3/4 C. milk or cream

Dash each: salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder

1/4 mustard

2 C. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

1/2 C. red or green pepper

6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

--or--

1 C. ham, finely diced

Line the bottom of a 13X9 pan with bread slices which you have lightly buttered. Sprinkle the bread with bacon or ham, pepper, and cheese.

Beat the eggs with the milk, and add seasonings. Pour over the bread, and refrigerate for at least half an hour. (Overnight is even better)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake strata for 30 to 45 minutes until puffed and lightly browned. Serve immediately.
All of these suggestions are excellent and the recipes sound great. If you are not inclined however to try them, think about dropping them off at the local homeless shelter. They will welcome any and all food. If you don't know where your local soup kitchen is, here is a link to use:

Italian Tomato- Bread Salad

Garlic and italian spices combine to create an easy salad that is perfect for picnics and barbeques (wonderful with grilled chicken). Also, a great way to use up stale bread, or an over-abundance of garden tomatoes.

6 servings 15 min 15 min prep

4 cups day-old Italian bread or French bread, cut into 1-inch pieces

2 medium tomatoes, diced

1 medium green bell pepper, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon dried basil

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1/3 cup olive oil

2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Mix together the bread, tomatoes, and bell pepper in large bowl.

Whisk together remaining ingredients.

Pour over bread mixture and toss to coat.

Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.

Toss before serving.

Pappa Al Pomodoro (Italian Bread and Tomato Soup)

This is a stick-to-your-ribs soup that is homey and delicious. You not only economize with this recipe by using up your stale bread deliciously, you also prepare an international treat that few know about and really needs more recognition. Please note that this could easily be turned into a vegetarian recipe by using vegetable broth.

6 cloves garlic

1 large onion, peeled,cut in half,thinly sliced

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 teaspoon red chili peppers

1 (1 3/4 lb) can plum tomatoes

1 lb stale bread, sliced,torn into small pieces

6 cups broth, of your choosing

1 cup packed basil, shredded

grated parmesan cheese

extra virgin olive oil

Saut茅 the garlic and onion in olive oil with the chili pepper until the garlic has lightly browned and the onion is just getting golden; add the tomato; season with salt; add half the basil leaves torn into tiny pieces; crush the tomatoes with the back of a wooden spoon and stir; cook until the tomatoes fall apart (about 20 minutes).

Put the bread into the sauce; the bread will soak up the sauce and it will get quite thick; add enough stock to soften the bread and to make it liquidy; add the remaining basil and cook until the bread becomes a kind of mush (this is called'pappa').

Serve, sprinkling with parmesan cheese and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil over each serving.
Make bread crumbs and freeze them...or just keep the bread in the freezer, and take it out as you need it. You could make crouton for a salad, or serve it with some soup. Tomatoes are really in season so have a BLT ( I know you said no sandwiches)
